We at St. Thomas' in the community of Bushwick are a congregation made of 20 different nationalities. Our mission statement is:
"St. Thomas Episcopal Church is a Christian community, called and gathered, where we communicate God's love to young and old, well-to-do and struggling, and celebrate diverse backgrounds. We are committed to being a sign to our city of God's work of justice, peace, and love".
We are a congregation facing the challenges that confront us from day to day. Does our worship experience and our prayer life equip us to deal with these and other challenges? I am convinced that if we take a careful look we will discover immense ways in which our lives are blessed even in the midst of our challenges.
As we go foward, let us pay prayer attention to our challenges, and seek ways to improve our station so that we may make a greater impact on our community. Let us strive to be a TEAM that succeeds always reminding ourselves that Together Everyone Accomplishes More, and that united we stand, divided we fall.
Yours in Christ,
Reverend Mthr. Kassinda R. T. Ellis, Priest-In-Charge
