The Connie W. Brown Memorial Scholarship
Mr. Connie Will Brown was a faithful member of Saint Thomas’ Episcopal Church for over thirty years. Earnestly, quietly, with deep devotion and commitment, he served his parish and community whenever and wherever he was needed. He served on the Vestry, Stewardship committee, Finance Committee, and Endowment Fund Committee; as Church Treasurer, Superintendent of Sunday School, and Young People’s Fellowship. He was on the Board of Directors of the Ducan Genns Apartments and one of the founders. Mr. Brown was a Lay Eucharistic Minister Chalice Administrator, and Lay Reader. He was a recipient of the Bishop’s Cross for Distinguished parochial Service in the Diocese of Long Island.
Connie W. Brown died on November 12, 1993. After his death members of the St. Thomas'Parish voted to establish a scholarship fund in memory of his work with the young people of the parish.
